Christian Prommer’s Drum Lesson Vids

Josh Wink, “Higher State of Consciousness”

My friend James pulled up these videos from the Sonar Kollektiv 10th anniversary party at which Christian Prommer happily schooled the audience. There’s a handful more of them, including “Rej,” “Beau Mot Plage,” and “Can You Feel It.” You can check them all out here.

Rhythim Is Rhythim, “Strings of Life”

In addition to relaunching its website, Ghostly has teamed up with Adult Swim for a downloadable compilation appearing to be absolutely free. It’s got new tunes from Osborne, Matthew Dear, Dabrye and Tycho. Sources are buzzing that Sam Valenti IV and/or Ryan Elliot may show up in upcoming Aqua Teen Hunger Force episodes, but no one was willing to go on the record.

i first heard the version of “strings of life” on laurent garnier’s pbb webradio, and being a huge isolee fan, i damn near messed my pants when i saw a used copy of the “beau mot plage / rex drums” record shelved at gramaphone. the recorded versions of these covers are excellent, and i can’t say enough when recommending just about anything on the sonar kollektiv label.
