Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay of Justice have shown yet again why they’ve risen to the top of the nu-rave pile with their recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While the duo recently started actually performing live (as opposed to DJing), the sight of two Parisians staring down a table full of knobs, faders and keys doesn’t exactly an exciting live experience make, especially when it needs to translate into a TV viewer’s living room. “D.A.N.C.E.” was directly inspired by and written for Michael Jackson, so what better time to blatantly acknowledge some of their main inspirations than with a souped-up live show? Yes, ladies and gentlemen, with celebrity impersonators. After Augé and de Rosnay tune into the correct frequency on a boombox (sound familiar?), Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Rick James, Prince and M.J. doppelgangers all “jam out” to “D.A.N.C.E.” played off a CD, breathing fresh, goofy life into the tune. More electronic artists need to be this bold and creative in live settings.
Talking of justice have you heard the man with guitar remix of D.A.N.C.E its really good 8 mins long but doesn’t fail to deliver its on Imeem to listen to as an exclusive, stuart price does it again.
Remix is pretty decent. Better than a lot of the remixes of that tune.
Kimmel isn’t exactly a huge deal, but his show is on a major network at the same time as the other big variety/talk shows. I wish I could think of a British equivalent.
Maybe friday night with johnathan ross he interviews all the big names in show business has a bit of banter with them etc gets around 13 million + viewers.
saw them live in LA on Monday evening. WOW. absolutely murdered the place. not just an hour and a half of pre-programmed nonsense. twas absolute bonkers. so much energy on the stage and dancefloor. just the two of them performed on stage. no impersonators. none needed. utterly epic.
thought they wouldnt have enough material to carry a fully continuous performance. i was wrong.
if they come within 250 miles of your town, you owe it to yourself.
Unfortunately the Chicago show has completely sold out and I am without a guestlist spot. If anyone reading this wants to rectify my sorry situation, feel free to email me or comment here!
Steve, do whatever you have to do. Break into the place the night before and hide, sell your body. just for the love of god please figure something out. it’s for your own good.
between the justice show and the carl craig demon days warehouse event this saturday, i feel really sorry for matthew dear and his big hands coming into town on tuesday. the bar has been set pretty high musically this week.
awesome. too bad it looked so phoney.
Is this programe a piss take or something its really tacky!?
I bet it wasnt justice’s idea to do that LOL.
P’raps it’s a bit tacky, but it’s a more interesting spectacle than watching inept Kimmel fans flailing to the b.e.a.t.
Why is this jimmy kimmel a big show over there ?
