Panda Bear is a member of the Animal Collective who are sometimes interesting but oftentimes not (except for, coincidentally, Panda Bear’s songs). It’s quite uplifting and highly recommended.

I keep on reading about panda bear in lots of end of year reviews they /he ? seem to have slipped under the radar im curious to listen now.
Nice reviews Quality read.
Is there a review of top tracks coming up ?

Unlike Wolfgang Voight’s Gas project, from which Willner borrows from liberally, The Field’s tracks struggle to keep my attention.

He’s got one gimmick which he repeats throughout the album, often for seven or eight minutes at a crack. If he would have kept things shorter or more varied I would have found it easier to stay attentive. And I like repetition and length, so the basic size/shape isn’t the problem, it’s the contents of the size/shape.

Asa Breed’s a worthy pick for #1 (he’s #2 for me behind LCD Soundsystem) and it doesn’t hurt that Dear’s a bit of a looker live.

(I’ve updated your link on my page by the way. I really like your new format and the new content – I’m looking forward to what’s to follow in the new year. Hopefully some more mixes?)
