Really like what he is doing. He modernizes that filtered / disco / funky house thing that was huge at the turn of the century. The times when Crydamour, Hatiras, Paul Johnson ruled the clubs…Really am happy to see this ‘sound’ coming back! So much more fun and funky than the last few years of sparseness…

if you get to see him live you’re in for a unique experience. really unusual sounds, but totally fun.
this one killed it as his opener at Fabric…that bass was just “wooooaaah”.

I spent half this year searching for those incredible songs I heard on a robert johnson podcast in april before finally finding out that soundstream was responsible, a couple of months back, so I’m very excited about this release… damn this has been one crazy year so far . (love jam/make love is even better though)

skills or not, i just hear this (at the static bpm of an mp3 stream, may be different when you kick it up a bit) as totally incongruous with the kind of stuff i’d like to play around it. a more jacking, floor-minded edit/rework would be tite.

Agreed — its exactly that odd juxtaposition that makes this track so appealing to me! Then again, I’m not at ALL sure how you’d go about mixing into it… those stabbing piano bits seem like they might overwhelm a lot of stuff and be hard to match up properly. Or perhaps I just don’t have the skillz.

sounds like it’s begging for a remix. an enjoyable listen, sure (esp. when that incredibly deep bass comes in) but something about the juxtaposition of the abrupt chops in the piano sample don’t really “function” well with the “chill” elements of the rest of the track (e.g. the claps and tambourine pattern, the strings, the multi-bar melody)
