Exclusive Download of the Week: Marcos Cabral, Sweet & Sour

Brooklyn’s Marcos Cabral is no new name, having released a handful of hit records by himself and as part of Runaway, and site regulars will remember his podcast for us a couple months ago. In addition to the On The Prowl label he runs with Runaway partner Jacques Renault, Cabral has recently given birth to his own Hamilton Dance Records label, now on its fourth release. Sweet & Sour sees Cabral at the controls for a handful of big warehouse tracks, but the title track, which he has graciously made available exclusively to LWE, is an almost medieval sounding synth track made 100% on the famous Yamaha DX7. Minor-key and foreboding, “Sweet & Sour” is a torrent of highly melodic arpeggios twisting themselves together, a delicious slice of hardware love that’s simple in execution, yet a complex web of harmony. Our thanks go out to Marcos for making this one available to us for free, and be sure to check the full release.
