LWE Guide To VIA Festival 2012

VIA Festival, an annual festival in Pittsburgh, launched in 2010 and highlights the intersection between entertainment and art, with over 100 musicians and 60 visual artists from Pittsburgh and nine countries gracing the stage since VIA’s inception. This October 1st-6th, VIA presents what’s next in music alongside a smattering of pioneers, representing a wide range of genres from noise, experimental electronic sounds, house music, and beyond. Re-framing city spaces, the 2012 festival showcases several unique spaces around the city including a former PNC Bank (soon to be demolished) and the re-purposed 6119 venue. Cutting edge experimentation is key in the festival’s collaborative performances, making VIA the nexus of once-in-a-lifetime performances in intimate venues, not to be missed if you can make it to Pittsburgh. As a media partner of the festival, LWE presents its guide to the festival.
